Cheaper than Adobe Acrobat Pro, while in theory doing most of what Acrobat does.
Cons
It craps out all the time, requiring constant uninstalls and reinstalls after using their cleanup tool. Even in the brief intervals when it is working, it is often extremely slow.
Summary
Nitro once produced a decent product. But it gets worse with each release and update, and now is virtually unusable.

I am a very basic user, and most days it does what I need to do.
Cons
Got an error and a message to contact support, but support can only be reached by email, seriously, email. Try fixing an issue that way.
Summary
I wish I had known there was no support when I purchased this software. My advice, make sure whatever product you purchase, make sure there is a phone number or at least chat available before spending your money.

This is such a valuable review. I wish I had listened to it. My thinking was "I have used PDF software from multiple vendors and only once (with Adobe Pro) did I need support and that was for some advanced features. How bad could this be?"
I am an idiot.
Imagine my dismay when the product malfunctioned and I attempted to contact support. Their goal was #1 to close the ticket and #2 to ignore your support requests (in that order). Since I specifically attempted to determine the solution myself, I sent them the details of the problem and the phrase to look for in their forum to understand that my problem was identical and I could not find the solution.
Without sending back this key phrase (no way to view the ticket either), they demanded I provide them a link to the forum post I was referring to. They did not reply to multiple requests to send me this key phrase. I spent two hours reading through their forum and found the post and sent the link but they closed the ticket anyway.

Will not open at times, without any obvious reason. Give popup to nitrocloud which cannot be turned off. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ACCESS ANY KIND OF SUPPORT ASSISTANCE!

Not really a Pro but I was required to add something here.
Cons
The free versions of NitroPDF Creator don't work well and support is in hiding so WHY would I BUY the current version?
Summary
I'm running Windows 7 (new installation) and downloaded the latest version of the free Nitro PDF Creator (3.x.x.x) and installed it successfully. When I try printing (to file) an online course, I am able to use Nitro PDF Creator once to create my target file. If I try to print each chapter of said online course, the second chapter will hang my session and I have to exit completely.
I downloaded PrimoPDF and PDF Creator and both of these programs work as desired. I go back to Nitro PDF Creator 3 and get the same hang condition. I believe PrimoPDF is just an older version of Nitro but not sure.
I have been unable to find any support of any kind for this version of Nitro PDF Creator.
So... I ask - WHY would I pay good money (currently at $139) for something when that vendors FREE version doesn't work and doesn't support it?

Good observation in your summary. Support from Nitro Pro is extremely difficult to obtain. I spent hours trying to get it. It is all automated and directs you to user forums where the so-called experts from Nitro Pro give advice that doesn't work.

Works easily. Much cheaper than adobe. I have been looking for a PDF converter for ages and this is the one that works for me. Very happy indeed.

I've already noticed that this is faster and more stable than the previous version. The new interface is clean and some of the new features are awesome (measurement tools!). The inclusion of a cloud account is a bonus, particularly as a repository for storing documents I have worked on. These guys are really onto something here.

Pros
On top of being able to edit PDFs I love the ability to sign and email documents without having to print them. Also pretty easy to create PDF forms.
Cons
The price was a little more than I wanted to spend but I tried the free trial version and ended up buying - Its been over a year and I am VERY happy.
Summary
I have 1 license. Started with the free demo version of 7.0 and loved it -edit and sign PDF contracts easily- a few months later they released 8.0 and upgraded me for free. Ive used tech support quite a bit because I'm not a computer guy and they have all been great - prompt email responses and chat. I even sent them a pdf form I wa having a hard time creating and they walked me through a few edits. Never been charged for support.
Could not be happier.

Full functionality and very easy to use. This is a huge upgrade over the previous version. OCR and redaction are now included, which brings this in line with Adobe Acrobat. Thankfully they both perform very well. The paragraph editing feature is a smart and useful addition too.
Cons
A mac version would complete the picture!
Summary
I have used a whole array of different PDF software programs over the years - Adobe, Foxit and Nitro being the best known. Previously, I have had to compromise for our business's PDF needs as Adobe was too expensive and monolithic, Nitro was missing some features and Foxit too busy, messy and invasive. Nitro started heading in the right direction with their reader, and it took them a while to update this program. Thankfully it was time well spent, as I now have a solution I can use pretty much across the board.
