I have five rules on this page:
- No swearing, children are on this website, also it will be removed denying me the opportunity to reply sarcastically.
- If you're going to insult me, please use proper grammar and spelling.
- Don't add the unsigned template, I honestly don't care if the comment is unsigned I can easily look into the history of the page to find who wanted to talk to me, and it also makes me think I have a new message when I don't. You can add add the template as long as you're leaving another comment and that comment cannot be 'I added the unsigned template'.
- Don't edit consecutively, I don't care whether you made a spelling mistake, as long as I can understand the word, I don't care it you forgot the final part on a userbox template, I'm not an idiot I can add }} easily and I don't care if you forget to put the date, I know what day it is and if a user is so curious to find out when the comment is made they can visit the page history.
- As of 24 July 2013, if you are friend requesting you must provide a reason for why we should be friends.
MarioKartManiac & Yoshi876 Discussion (July 2013)[edit]
- I'm looking forward to Mario Party 3DS the most. I'd love to get that for Christmas. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Pick it up! I think that Mario Party 3DS would be a lot better if it had internet. I really don't care about internet, but I think it's a pretty good idea. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Online games should then be 4-6 turns. By the way, enjoy today's 4M [1]! 4M means MarioKartManiac's Marvelous Monday Melody! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- When you have 4 players in Mario Party, a round lasts about 3 minutes. Plus you have a minigame which can be a matter of 30 seconds, and battles can take about 2 minutes. Nintendo could make boards designed for online play. I believe 15 minutes is good enough, considering online play in Mario Kart 7. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I think that would be a great idea for Nintendo to consider. Online seems to be the big thing with video games these days. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I think Mario Kart 7 had great online, and I can't wait to see what Mario Kart 8 has in store for us. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Lots of people have said it's great. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I don't either. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- They leave cause they have rage quit. I have some of that to. People always get mad when they lose. It's a way of life. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I see why some people would do it. They lose all the time, and then they do all these glitches so they can recover. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I've seen that glitch in a Mario Kart 7 Online Match video on YouTube. The glitch I'm sure that ticks everyone off is the Maka Wuhu one. I think it was fixed for online last year. By the way, it's getting pretty close to the deletion of the Player article. Have people started erasing links to that page? MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Ok then. I'm happy that article's getting deleted. I'm also happy that I'm getting better at Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Sorry, I do not. I know I saw it on the videogameheat channel. Have fun hunting through 40 videos if you're up for it! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- You write for the 'Shroom now?! Congratulations! What do you do? MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Cool, you write for the obituaries! The reason Lakitu has died many times is because he looks over his cloud and a Spiny kicks him off every time for revenge! I once saw that happen! I was on a plane, and a Lakitu made a loud THUNK on the front side of the plane. Unfortunately, we were in the midst of a terrible thunderstorm, and Lakithunder struck Lakitu with not lighting, but a Spiny. Lakitu fell and the windshield cracked! Everyone screamed the word Nintendo 64 in fear! Mario was on the plane that day, and Mario used his only plumbing tool (hammer), and fixed the windshield. I'll never understand Nintendo's law of physics. So in the end, who's the real murderer?! Lakitu or Spiny? And did Mario hijack the plane for using a weapon that has killed thousands of Bowser's minions? Find out next time on another episode of CSI Mushroom Kingdom on CBS! (CSI is a famous American crime show, and CBS is the news channel it's on.) MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I thought CSI was only American. Well then, we can conclude that science is no good. By the way, did you understand the Nintendo 64 part? MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I remember the good days from our past discussions! I took some time yesterday to read through the BJAODN, and the Get Yoshi's Island DS Unfeatured was pretty funny. It would of been funnier if the article did get unfeatured for fun. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I'm just kidding you know! By the way, if you ever want to keep track of my Marvelous Monday Melodies, I'm making a chart of them on my userpage. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I'm getting my Nintendo 3DS today!!! The bad thing is I can't play it today. I'm most likely getting black. Anyway, here is today's Marvelous Monday Melody!
- We both now have black! I got my 3DS yesterday, and I'm glad I got it early. I currently have Mario Kart 7 and Scribblenauts Unlimited. I will get Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon next week! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- When did you get LM2/LMDM? I was surprised I got the game today, and I love it so far! My brother is currently playing LM2/LMDM on my 3DS. He's loved MK7 so far! He's getting a 3DS for Christmas, and he really wants Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Yoshi's New Island (He's a big Yoshi fan.), and DK Country Returns 3D. The next 2 Mario games I want are MP3DS and Paper Mario SS. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Where are you currently in the game? I will be starting B-4 soon. I've been off the MarioWiki a lot this week to enjoy my 3DS. It's funny that my 3DS was my 3rd video game console ever and Mario Kart 7 was my 7th Mario game. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I'm already in the middle of Old Clockworks. Here is today's Marvelous Monday Melody. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Never heard of Doctor Who until I Googled it 2 minutes ago. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- America's greatest show is probably The Simpsons. It's been on since 1989. A bunch of people watch it, but people are starting to say 24 years is to long. Here is today's 4M! MarioKartManiac (talk)
MarioKartManiac & Yoshi876 Discussion (August 2013)[edit]
- It's funny how I think I've already caught up to you! I finished D-2 about an hour ago. I'm surprised I'm getting better at video games! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I think I'm past you in LMDM/LM2 now! I'm in the middle of Treacherous Mansion already! The Secret Mine boss only took me 5 minutes, which shocked me cause I'm a bad gamer. It took KoopaKungFu about 45 minutes, so that made me so ecstatic! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Sorry for the late reply. 50 years is a long time. American shows seem to be cancelled all the time. After a new show comes out, it's pretty much dead in 4 months. By the way, I finished LMDM/LM2 on August 6. Or August 7, one of the 2. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Unfortunately, America's different. We treat our shows like junk. Same thing with health. We have a lot of people who are fat. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I'm surprised America still has shows from the 1900s. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- Futurama is a show I love to watch, but 2013 is it's last year on TV. South Park is another show I use to love watching, but I still watch it at times. For Season 17, they have 10 episodes compared to Season 16's 14 episodes. I think it was suppose to end this year, but now it's running until 2016. The Simpsons has no end in sight. Family Guy was released in 1999 and is still going strong. By the way, my family has planned to get wireless internet sometime this fall! 3DS online multiplayer, here I come! And I wouldn't forget to give you today's 4M. MarioKartManiac (talk) 19:55, 12 August 2013 (EDT)
- It sucks how I don't have wireless. Hopefully one day I can kick you're butt at MK7 online! For today's 4M, check out my user page to get the links. They're easy to find. MarioKartManiac (talk)
- I can't wait to show you how good I am at Mario Kart! I've been practicing a lot. I already have over 8,500 coins on MK7! My apologies, I was on Monday. If I don't talk to you on Monday, it's because I'm busy or to tired. I did put up the link to 8/26's 4M on 8/26. Just check my user page everyday around 21:00 your time. It should be up around that time. MarioKartManiac (talk) 21:05, 27 August 2013 (EDT)
MarioKartManiac & Yoshi876 Discussion (September 2013)[edit]
- Do you use the AM, PM system or do you use military time? Anyway, here is today's 4M! It celebrates the 21st anniversary of the release of Super Mario Kart (In the USA)! MarioKartManiac (talk)
- That's great! Makes my life easier! Also, Saturday is my birthday! I'm glad I didn't have to wait 1 1/2 months for my 3DS! By the way, I am officially getting wireless internet this fall. I went to McDonald's to download a free game from Club Nintendo Thursday, and I now have a friend code. If you want to have a useless friend code for about 2 months, just ask! MarioKartManiac (talk) 22:30, 6 September 2013 (EDT)
- Uh oh! Good luck finding it. The 4M is on my user page. I'm in a hurry right now, so I can't post it. MarioKartManiac (talk) 21:29, 9 September 2013 (EDT)
- That's got to suck. That means less money for a game now. By the way, have you been to the Super Mario Wiki on your 3DS? If you have, tell me what it's like. I am just dying over here in America for that wireless internet! I've also decided what Top 5 games I want for Christmas, and that's also killing me! IT HURTS SO BAD! Here is today's 4M!
- All right then. How often do you use the internet browser anyway? MarioKartManiac (talk) 19:54, 17 September 2013 (EDT)

Starlow's quote[edit]
Hello. I noticed you removed a quote in Starlow's article twice because it included the word "nude". In this case, the quote you reinstated is actually better than the one you removed, but I still wanted to let you know there is absolutely nothing wrong with having the word "nude" in a quote. Serious Question[edit]
Dear Yoshi876. I want to thank you for basiclly saving Special 1-1. When I saw what you did to the page, I was completely surprised. Due to this, I wanted to ask if you would help me with my new project:Create pages for every Special World level. I would do the pictures, basic information, and Star Medal locations. You could do the lay-out (I'm horrible at the lay-outs). I would contact you when I was to start a level page, and we would continue the page. If you accept or decline, tell me here.
KingKamek (talk)
Help[edit]
Hello Yoshi876. It's me, KingKamek again. I wanted to know if you know how to start a info-box. I put Special 1-1 under construction and erased the image I had on the page. If you could make a info box, that would be great. Whenever I try, it always messes up. And my computer won't let upload images, so if you could get a image of Special 1-1, that would be great too. you know where to contact me. Thanks again.
KingKamek
Special 1-2[edit]
Thanks with Special 1-1. The image will be found, don't worry. In the meantime, I'm going to start Special 1-2. Thanks.

BJAODN[edit]
Wow @ the latest BJAODN entry. That's a good one. :P KaBoom! 17:30, 25 July 2013 (EDT)
- Oh, explaining the obvious, that's such a regular part of the BJAODN. :P BTW, why are the edit buttons on the left side of the screen?
KaBoom! 14:52, 31 July 2013 (EDT)- Maybe it's the difference between the {{userboxp}} and {{userbox}} template?
KaBoom! 15:00, 31 July 2013 (EDT)- Good! You might have to change it in this talk page as well.KaBoom! 15:10, 31 July 2013 (EDT)
- Maybe it's the difference between the {{userboxp}} and {{userbox}} template?
Also, tell the user what's going on in World 2-1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) because it's apparent that you're a bit inside of a reverting war. I know you are aware that this is strongly discouraged. I already told Nsmbufan what you two are doing, so I hope you can talk it out instead of reverting other users' edits.
KaBoom! 17:02, 31 July 2013 (EDT)
- Oh, darn. I don't know if the user's calling you stupid or not, but I don't think it's worth it to get worked up about something he may or may not have intended.
KaBoom! 17:32, 31 July 2013 (EDT)- Sorry to butt in but I don't think there was anyone else to refer to when he said "that guy is too stupid". But, for your edit war, the entire sentence is pure strategy and opinions, that's why I removed it and made a satire on my edit summary. Ray Trace(T|C) 17:49, 31 July 2013 (EDT)
Re: Olimar[edit]
Err, I actually do think it should be added, as not adding stuff because it it an upcoming game doesn't make sense. Any bit of info make the wiki better. Make of it what you want. Also, I didn't get the "it isn't on any of the character articles" part. Lakituthequick 19:12, 27 July 2013 (EDT)

ML:DT Concept artwork[edit]
I have a question for you. Remember this file that I uploaded yesterday? Well someone has uploaded these:
The original source of these 2 photos just said: "Miiverse" So I changed it to what I put on File:MLDT Concept Art Two.jpg
It looks to me that someone edited File:MLDT Concept Art Two.jpg and made the 2 scenes seperate. Should File:MLDT Concept Art Two.jpg be deleted since someone has cropped it? Or should these 2 new photos be linked with File:MLDT Concept Art Two.jpg maybe under the "Other versions/Edit" section of the Aboutfile? Agentdave7 (talk) 12:07, 12 August 2013 (EDT)
RE:RE: ML:DT Concept artwork[edit]
I didn't know there was a preferred format. I thought JPEG was better for the internet because of its relative small size, compared to other formats. Obviously Shokora (talk · edits) knows what he's doing. I thought cutting the images from the backgrounds would be a good idea. I wanted to put up the images right away and then let someone else edit them if they wanted to. I'll add the pending deletion notification to File:MLDT Concept Art Two.jpg. Thanks again for your help! Agentdave7 (talk) 12:54, 12 August 2013 (EDT)

"Proposal failed" Venus Fire Trap[edit]
OK, I see it did, but look at this. It says the most recent name is what goes. The only reason that proposal failed is b/c people are used to calling it "Venus Fire Trap" and dislike its new name. Also one reason is that "Venus Fire Trap comes from Nintendo, Fire Piranha Plant comes from Prima" and this is completely invalid because that is what it was named in-game in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Since you're online here's a question[edit]
It's me again! I've got another question. I've been working on making a "script" for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Someone recently added links on the first part of my "script" (right now it's called "Introductory Video"). Is it really necessary to add links to this? I haven't seen links in other italicized (word-for-word copied) information before. For example at the part that says "We can't forget these guys" I have added a note (on the revised version that I'm currently working on this page User:Agentdave7/Work) on what happens (ex. Mario and Luigi board the blimp). Agentdave7 (talk) 16:34, 19 August 2013 (EDT)
- Those are quotes. This is a full on-script. I see an example in Fly Guy Grab. I added information to the "In-game Instructions" section. No links there. I think links belong only in the Summary, the script looks bad with all the blue in it because further down (if you looked at my work page) you would see that some words are colour-coated (red and blue so far). I don't want it to be confusing with the links and the colours. And if you looked at what I put in the brackets I described the actions taking place on screen.
- Sorry about rule #4. I forgot my signature and I know you are like an "unsigned comment" policeman. Agentdave7 (talk) 16:48, 19 August 2013 (EDT)
- Is the "script" a good idea? Since the Summary is lacking I thought adding the actual dialog and some play-by-play (in a "script" section) would help in the lack of a better Summary. Agentdave7 (talk) 16:55, 19 August 2013 (EDT)
- By "stage directions" your mean "anything I have in the brackets" (,get rid of it). Okay. Thanks for your help, again. Agentdave7 (talk)

RE:Mario Party Island Tour Playability[edit]
I'm pretty sure them being on the boxart confirms their playability. It's really freaking obvious. Other characters such as Boo, Flutter, Rosalina, or Bowser Jr. are sure debatable, but when you need to ask if "Yoshi" and "Waluigi" are playable, it's a little extreme, especially if they're perfect attendees from as late as Mario Party 3 (except Waluigi who isn't in Mario Party Advance). This isn't comparable to Mario Kart 7 where Waluigi didn't appear at all - Waluigi blatantly appears in the boxart interacting with the characters, even holding the cards. Same with Yoshi, who appears to be with Wario. Ray Trace(T|C) 13:49, 31 August 2013 (EDT)
- Again, which is grasping at straws. But again, Waluigi is clearly shown being playable while he is holding cards. No other host/space character is seen interacting like that. And you know Yoshi. They're not going to turn him into a space (as much as I like to see that). Ray Trace(T|C) 13:54, 31 August 2013 (EDT)

The latest Nintendo Direct popped up completely by surprise last Thursday, bringing with it several news related to the initiatives organized for Mario's 35th anniversary such as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Nintendo Switch, Super Mario's Game & Watch, the particular battle royale Super Mario 35 on Nintendo Switch Online and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, but it was still a particular Direct, all focused on a unique theme.
Many are still waiting for the famous high-profile general Nintendo Direct, that is the classic Nintendo appointment in which the company reveals all the most important news for Nintendo Switch, something that has practically not occurred for all of 2020 so far.
The thing was recently discovered by the user ShowtimevonParty on Reddit: in practice, if you directs to the Visiospark.com site, which provides information on updates to the sites, and pastes the address of the official page of the Nintendo Direct archive, you get as information that the page was last updated on September 5th, that is last Saturday.
Leyla Hasso
Introduction
Leyla Hasso is a Super Mario Kart (SMK) (SNES) player from London, UK and is the niece of Sami Cetin. Leyla is currently the undefeated UK Women's Champion of Super Mario Kart Time Trial on both PAL and NTSC modes and also ranked the 2nd fastest PAL Time Trial player in the UK. Leyla is however the 7-time Women's World Champion on the Multiplayer World Championship results from 2012-2018, only passed once by Belgium's Champion Sophie Jarmouni in 2019. She was historically known for her match against MKDD player Vincent van der Fluit in a SMK Grand Prix 150cc Mushroom Cup tournament for karters around their skill level in 2007. Leyla Hasso has been featured in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2013 for her Women's World Title at the time on Super Mario Kart SNES and also in the Guinness World Records 2014 and 2015 main books respectively. Outside of Super Mario Kart, Leyla was also a keen Mario Kart Super Circuit player (Gameboy Advance), where she also holds a UK Women's title and made a good entry into Mario Kart 64 Time Trials. She is also a fan of several classic Super Mario Bros platform games and Zelda titles.
Starting out with some games and introduction to Super Mario Kart
Leyla Hasso has been involved with Super Mario Kart since her very early years including assisting Sami Cetin with a Time Trial site update in late 1999. She played the SMK a little during Nursery time hitting some of her first lap times on Mario Circuit 1 and playing some GP Mushroom Cup. She also played various games on the Nintendo Game Boy and Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
In 2004, Sami decided to get Leyla her own SNES with Super Mario Kart and Super Mario All Stars. Shortly after putting together a full timeset on Super Mario Kart, she then officially joined the Super Mario Kart Time Trial World Records Site in Summer of 2004. Six months later, her initial competitor on Time Trials was 6 year old Tanja Huber of Germany (the younger sister of Former German Champion, Armin Huber). Tanja was a great contender and both karters exchanged ranks several times. Leyla eventually overtook her on Time Trials and passed a few more karters till she stopped playing for a while. By 2007 she had been learning how to drive with Bowser and reached 1'03" level on Mario Circuit 1 Time Trials.
Leyla Hasso vs Vincent van der Fluit
A Tournament was organised by Leyla's Uncle Sami Cetin on Saturday 6th October 2007 and was also a big day for Leyla's SMK career. The Tournament included karters of the Intermediates to Beginners on SMK. Leyla joined 'Team UK' (as established by Jonathan Sifleet). 8 players entered which would be set on 150cc Grand Prix mode of Mushroom Cup.
Leyla had an early match vs Lindsay Molenaar of the Netherlands, advancing to the later rounds. Vincent van der Fluit defeated the remainder of UK players including John Barber, placing Leyla and Vincent in the final. After some great races Leyla won the cup. Here is the Final video of Leyla Hasso vs Vincent van der Fluit. Shortly after this Tournament she took a break from SMK, and played some Mario Kart DS on the side for fun plus some PC games.
Leyla Hasso Interviewed by Nintendo
In December 2008, Leyla had the opportunity to be interviewed by Nintendo for the Nintendo Wii Channel. Her uncle Sami Cetin also had a separate interview at the same time. The interview highlighted her success as a young gamer; reaching #1 on the Women's ranking in London and #2 in the UK on SMK and how participating in an international tournament went the year before. The video was featured on the Nintendo Wii Channel in early 2009. (Watch her Interview Video with Nintendo)
Super Mario Kart UK Championships 2010 leading to big return in 2012
Leyla participated in the one time only UK Championships for Super Mario Kart. On 2nd October 2010 there was a huge event in Fairfield Halls, Croydon South London which had 28 competitors from all over the UK, even as far as Scotland. Leyla placed 16th overall in this event with the Time Trial one try mode being her strongest placing at 14th.
Another comeback in 2012 led Leyla to improve more of her weaker records in Time Trial. Eventually she managed to reach her first Women's World Record on 7th January 2012 on Choco Island 1 lap with 0'12"78 . Following this she continued to Time Trial between January to March working through all the weaker tracks, learning new strategies including platform jumps on Ghost Valley 1 and 3 and many Women's World Records were hit. Next, she challenged the records of the fastest female player in the UK at the time, Sue Cladingboel. On 11th March 2012 Leyla Hasso passed Sue to become the UK's Fastest Female Super Mario Kart player and ranked 2nd fastest female in the World on PAL. One week later Leyla's continued records helped her to pass Tanja Bronnecke (Germany) to become the fastest Female Super Mario Kart Player in the World for PAL version.
Super Mario Kart World Championship 2012, France
Leyla Hasso made her debut at the Super Mario Kart World Championships in France in 2012. Her attendance was a surprise to many and she would enter the competition as Female World Champion for the first time. She joined her uncle Sami Cetin and six other Top members of Team UK for the Tournament and was up against 50+ of the best Super Mario Kart competitors from 8 countries around the World.
She placed 32nd overall which was a pleasing result considering limited experience in Match Race and some of the other modes. She did however place well in the Time Trial one tries and Battle Mode, up at 27th. Leyla was also one of few karters at the event who achieved all 20/20 zoom starts during the PAL Time Trial one try event.
Match Race Open at the Play Expo 2012, EventCity, Manchester, UK
Leyla Hasso and her Uncle Sami Cetin travelled to Manchester in October 2012 to attend the Play Expo 2012 event. A section was set up for a Match Race tournament that began with a Time trial one try qualifier; the Top 16 would then advance to the Tournament Bracket. Leyla reached 1st position on the qualifier then made her way through the bracket, losing a couple of races in the Quarter Final and eventually facing Paul Darbyshire, Liverpool's Super Mario Kart Champion in the Final, which she won 9-4. Leyla earned a Gold SNES pad for her win.

Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2013
Following her uncle Sami's entry in the Guinness World Record books the previous year, Leyla had the opportunity for an entry into the 2013 Gamer's Edition book for holding more Super Mario Kart World Records for a female gamer than any other. A photoshoot was done in 2012 and this has been included into the book with Leyla wearing a Luigi hat (or L for Leyla). She also later featured in the 2014 and 2015 books for her achievements.
Games Expo East Kent 2013 Match Race Challenge and Vanilla Lake 2 Women's World Record
Leyla attended the Games Expo East Kent 2013 event in Margate, UK with her uncle Sami on Saturday 23rd February to volunteer for running a Super Mario Kart Tournament for the visitors. There were 73 entries and the winner of the first final was Dave Kingston. A special exhibition match was set up between Dave and Leyla Hasso with most of the venue spectating. Dave, a Battle Mode Specialist put up a good match winning a couple of races on tactics and coming close on a few more. The final result was 10-2 to Leyla; Leyla Hasso vs Dave Kingston Match Race Video
Super Mario Kart World Championship 2013
Leyla Hasso attended the Super Mario Kart World Championship 2013 at La Suze-sur-Sarthe, near Le Mans, France between 20th - 25th August 2013 along with her Uncle Sami Cetin and the rest of Team UK. This was Leyla's 2nd Championship and following a year of hard Time Trialing and some multiplayer practice she was sure to improve greatly on the overall results. Leyla placed 16th Overall which was a big climb on the previous year!
150cc Grand Prix she had prepared for less, but some good driving helped her to reach the borderline for qualification into the Top 16. She had to face off vs Takashi Ogasawara of Japan to decide who goes through, and this was on Mushroom Cup 150cc, which Leyla comfortably won after getting a good lead from Ghost Valley 1 onwards. Leyla Hasso vs Takashi Ogasawara 150cc Grand Prix video
Match Race mode was tough on the groups, but following a good driving procedure and item use, Leyla entered the barrage face off match again, this time vs Samuel Gomez. She won this in style even getting a classic "UK Lightning" at the end on Ghost Valley 1 to officially reach the Top 16 there. Leyla Hasso vs Samuel Gomez Match Race Video
On the final day she decided to go for a live Women's World Record attempt on Vanilla Lake 2 PAL. You can view the live stream video of her 52.53 Women's World Record time that is also her first Top 15 time in the World.
Mario Kart 8 Promotions for Nintendo UK at EGX
With the release of Mario Kart 8 due on the Nintendo Wii U in 2014, Leyla has also partaken in some interviews along with her uncle Sami Cetin, filmed by Nintendo UK. This was also a good promotion of the upcoming new release and they were asked to have a demonstration of the game. This had taken place at EGX in London in late 2013 and the video was prepared for March 2014: Leyla Hasso and Sami Cetin try out Mario Kart 8
Super Mario Kart World Championship 2014
Leyla Hasso attended the Super Mario Kart World Championship 2014 at La Suze-sur-Sarthe, near Le Mans, France again between 12th - 17th August 2014 along with her Uncle Sami Cetin and the rest of Team UK. This was Leyla's 3rd Championship and she came armed with some NBT on basic tracks and improved tactics on the Multiplayer Modes.
Leyla made an awesome run on the Time Trial Mode running her most consistent one try set ever and 20/20 zoom starts. Her best hit was a 54 second one try on Vanilla Lake 2! She landed 9th there, marking her first single digit rank. She narrowly missed out on an opportunity to reach the Quarter Finals there with another VL2 run. However her potential shows she can go very far in future years. Match Race also went exceptionally well where she managed to tie many big rivals who are faster drivers and get some win points on key contenders. She also placed 9th for a second time running with a Top 16 exit in the bracket. Leyla also reached UK #2 on Time Trial one tries and Match Race for 2014.
Battle Mode wasn't Leyla's strongest though she gained more wins and draws than previous years and reached 17th place, a new height but missing out on the Top 16 by 1 point to her team member Chris Clark who qualified. 150cc Grand Prix she has trained less on but managed to reach 14th there. Leyla reached 13th overall at the SMK World Championship 2014, 3rd in the UK and retains all Women's titles on all of the Multiplayer modes.
UK #2 Time Trial Rank on PAL
In summer 2015, Leyla Hasso made a return to Super Mario Kart PAL Time Trials to secure some key PRs. She broke the sub minute barrier on Mario Circuit 1 for the first time, and with these latest PRs, she was able to pass Ben Allen for the 2nd fastest Time Trial rank on PAL Super Mario Kart Time Trials in the UK.
Super Mario Kart World Championships 2015
Leyla had limited time to train for the 2015 championships but was determined to compete again in Super Mario Kart. She would face a stronger competition from Belgium's fastest female player, Sophie Jarmouni. Leyla would also compete for the first time as the UK #2 in Time Trial Mode which she achieved slightly earlier this year. Her final rank was 11th overall and 3rd in the UK (after Sami and Conor).
Time Trial had a bit of a struggle on some tracks for Leyla this year, and the competition was a lot fiercer, minus one or two previous competitors not taking part this year. She reached 9th in the groups and had a shot at the Quarter Finals, however a zoom start miss on Rainbow Road and a subsequent error on Ghost Valley 1 made her final rank 9th and elimination in the Top 16. Leyla however maintained UK #2 at Time Trial One tries for the second year.
Match Race was a confident mode for Leyla; and with the increased competition she landed a very high group stage position at 9th overall, with a notable 2-2 score on live stream vs World Champion, Florent Lecoanet. Leyla reached the Top 16 vs racing specialist Jeremie Clement, and put a good match in, but he edged it with tactics and a few extra zoom starts, eliminating Leyla 5-2.
Battle Mode was also the weaker mode for Leyla which she had limited time to train, so it would be an uphill battle. But she had a goal to try to reach the Top 16 which she had not achieved before in Battle Mode. She then reached 15th on the groups, skipping the barrages and was eliminated 5-0 by 2nd seed Florent Lecoanet in the Top 16.
150cc Grand Prix proved to be the toughest for everyone this year as more competitors would take part than ever before. Leyla had many near misses in the group stages, landing her at 17th. She faced USA's former National Champion, Joe Bernier in the Barrage on live stream on Mushroom Cup 150cc GP and Leyla took the win, advancing into the Top 16 there, marking the first time she reached the Top 16 at least on all of the modes. Leyla then faced 1st seed Geoffrey Label, losing 2-0 to him on cups who went on to win the Gold medal that night.
Super Mario Kart World Championships 2016
Leyla attended the World Championships in 2016 which were held in Strasbourg, France. She placed 11th in the Group Stage for Time Trials with a very narrow miss of reaching the Quarter Finals after reaching the Top 16.
Match Race performance went very well for her in the group stages, and Leyla managed to hold up well against the stronger players, reaching 9th there this year. She had a very close match against Jeremie Clement which she was able to win against this time, but then lost in the Top 16 to Aron Langerak 5-3 where she again had a good opportunity to reach the Quarter Finals.
Battle Mode proved very tough this year and Leyla had a lot of draws and losses which were previously wins or draws respectively. After the group stage she placed 21st. 150cc Grand Prix improved and even though it was a strong line up, Leyla reached the Top 16 and took on Dutch Veteran Martin van Haasteren in the Barrage. She won the Match 36-18 on the in game points and was eliminated by Julien Holmiere in the Top 16. Leyla reached 15th out of 52 players at the 2016 World Championships Overall.
Super Mario Kart World Championships 2017
Leyla returned for the 25th anniversary celebration year of Super Mario Kart at the World Championships 2017, held back at La Suze. She reached the overall rank of 11th out of 54 players this year despite the hard line up and lack of training.
Time Trial group stage went well and improved on last year as she placed 8th, but then was eliminated in the Top 16 to become 9th as her final rank. Match Race went exceptionally well as she delivered great results in the group stage placing at 6th there which is her highest result ever. A Top 16 match vs Algerian Champion, Salim Araissia started with him having a strong lead, she made a big comeback but narrowly lost 5-4.
Battle Mode was a solid improvement on the previous year with a 13th place position on the group stages, and she won the barrage match vs Dutch #2 Aron Langerak to reach the Top 16, which followed with a 5-1 defeat vs UK Team Member, Conor Wood. On 150cc Grand Prix Leyla kept the momentum up and managed to take on faster rivals helping her to reach 12th. She had a Top 16 match vs France's Geoffrey Label who is a former medallist. She won a cup after a good strategy involving a green shell on Vanilla Lake 1, but lost 2-1.
Return to NTSC Time Trials in 2017
Leyla made a return to NTSC Time Trials in late 2017 to revamp her old timeset but with NBT. She has hit some high level records on Mushroom and Flower Cup towards the end of the year and landed her first ever UK Record on NTSC with 11.83 seconds on Mario Circuit 2 lap.
Super Mario Kart World Championships 2018
Leyla entered the Super Mario Kart World Championship 2018 which was held at the eSports bar at Alphen aan den Rijn, the Netherlands for the first time.
Time Trial group stage went very consistently and she scored a few high position. The Top 16 was a nightmare for some of the top players, including Julien, Karel and her Uncle Sami who were all eliminated on Ghost Valley 3. Leyla reached the Quarter Finals and due to her success on the group stage, she reached her first UK Time Trial Title.
Battle Mode had some difficulties and Leyla ended up in the barrages but with a successful win vs Adrien Garreau, shortly after facing Julien to lose in the Top 16. Match Race went smoothly as she landed a spot with another chance to go for the Quarter Finals. Another regular rival Guillaume Leviach was in the Top 16 and defeated Leyla 5-2 however.
150cc Grand Prix had a surprise turn around this year as pushed through to 6th place in the Group Stage. She had a great opportunity to reach the Quarter Finals here and faced Algeria's Champion, Salim Araissia. Salim was however victorious at this time but Leyla reached 9th overall to mark her first time above the Top 10 at the Championships.
American Super Mario Kart Championships 2018
The American Super Mario Kart Championships were created for the first time by the Louisiana team in USA. The event was held in March 2018 in Monroe, Louisiana USA across a weekend with a Triple Elimination system and the first official NTSC competition on console. Leyla travelled to USA with her Uncle Sami, meeting with Dutch competitiors Karel and Martin, and Guillaume from France to complete the European visitors. They faced a number of karters from Louisiana, Mississippi, California, Colorado and Oklahoma on the first edition.
Time Trial group stage went exceptionally well for Leyla as she had near enough a clean sweep of the tracks with consistent driving. Unfortunately with zoom start issues along with her Uncle Sami at the Top 16 level, both were eliminated early to place them out of the running for winning the Championship.
Match Race was reasonably good and Leyla held some good races together but was eliminated before the Podium. However 150cc Grand Prix was a big surprise as she had an unfortunate beginning and then had to take a path on the 3rd elimination to the top facing each USA competitor. With consistent wins Leyla reached the 3rd Place Match vs Guillaume Leviach and managed to win, earning her first Bronze Medal at a Super Mario Kart World Championship.
The weekend finished up with Battle Mode and although this wasn't her strongest mode, Leyla gave her best and this landed her in joint 4th Place overall in a tie with Dutch Rival Martin van Haasteren.
Super Mario Kart World Championships 2019
The Super Mario Kart World Championship 2019 was held again at the eSports bar at Alphen aan den Rijn, the Netherlands and Leyla returned for the toughest year yet. The Time Trial competition was solid this time round with a lot of improved players. Leyla held together a great round however and a good placing at 8th on the group stage. The new elimination round was difficult and Leyla has an unfortunate exit at 13th due to a missed zoom start.
Battle Mode was slight step up from the previous year with Leyla placing 14th and defeating UK team mate David Moll in the barrage, followed with a battle to the finish vs USA's former Battle Mode Champion Drew Blumfield where she lost 5-4.
Match Race also had a lot of close rounds vs everyone and Leyla made it to 12th Place in the group stage, and she landed in a Top 16 Match vs her biggest rival Jeremie "Jey" Clement. After being 4-2 down, Leyla made a comeback to win vs Jey 5-4 and reach her first Match Race Quarter Final. Leyla faced her Uncle Sami and took two races from him, following with a 7-2 loss.
150cc Grand Prix was a nightmare this year with a lot of narrow losses in the group stage. Leyla however held up the battle as much as she could, working her way through the barrage, defeating Mike Hulscher of the Netherlands, but then losing to Martin van Haasteren, also the Netherlands. Leyla's rival Sophie Jarmouni reached her first Quarter Final there which resulted in Sophie taking the Women's World Title at the Championships for the first time. Leyla's final placing was great at 11th and she passed several big rivals who were all very closely ranked.
