It search and finds files in reformatted partition. You'll just waste your time with this software

Customer service is bogus. Is in denial about shopping cart working ok. Instead sends me to another site to fulfill order. For a "discounted rate" of 69.95 you get software that doesn't do what it says. I found another data recovery software for 49.95 that worked far better than Wondershare Data Recovery!! I would also PS I'm not advertising this program. I just found it useful and thought of sharing with others. I would also advise you to try before you buy.

Summary

I had a very unpleasant experience and to top it off the product is expensive and doesn't do what it claims. I contacted Wondershare about issues with the shopping cart and was told to try again using another one (Shareit). I frankly should had abandoned the purchase altogether. I received a $5 discount code offer from wondershare.com for signing up for emails but they didn't honor it. Ted claims it doesn't apply towards discounted software even though it wasn't stated in the email nor the shopping cart! Switch and bait tactics. Very dismissive emails and said to use the coupon towards a future product purchase.

Summary

I accidentally deleted a file on my USB drive. I downloaded Wondershare off of their website. I believe it allows you to recover up to 200MB before moving to their paid version. I ran a scan and the missing file didn't show up at first. So I ran a Deep Scan and it showed up. One click and the file was recovered. I was impressed!

sleek and powerful program

Cons

I only needed to recover 1 file and the trial version doesn't allow recovery. View only. I tried Open Source software and it did the trick, Testdisk 7.0 is DOS no GUI but was just as effective with no hidden tricks and the developer offers the possibility to make a donation. That's the way software should be. Thanks Christophe GRENIER

Free trial version allowed me to see lost contacts.

Cons

Recovered contact info was partially corrupted: Although properly formatted as visible in trial scan, much of the contact info restored to I-phone 4S was corrupted (separated area codes, numbers associated with wrong contact name, no contact name). Not sure if this was caused by the original program downloaded on laptop or the additional "restore" program required to be downloaded to I-phone.

Poor instructions omitted some steps: Registering process requires "change accounts", even though correct email account is showing; Recovering directly to device does not work: Must "recover to app", then download "recover program" to I-phone, then use "recover to app" to move info to phone.

Doesn't help at all. Deleted a file. Immediately understood I made a mistake. Tried the demo. It shows the file. But as a demo it couldn't recover the file. Bought the full version. It showed the file and recover only half of it. I didn't do anything with the drive since I deleted the file, so no way something was written on the drive.
I'm talking about the Mac version.

Summary

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP.

stay away. Ive bought their recovery data program, no files were retrieved, tried to find a point of contact, found their email but they did not reply. Ive just thrown my money out the window.

Cons

they will take your money, give you nothing back in return.

Summary

they really have to be reported. a lot of money in their pockets from unsuspected victims.

Summary

Downloaded the demo version for Windows to see if it will pick up lost files from a reformatted WD Passport external drive. There was just under 1T of lost audiovisual data there, but the demo politely told me "Sorry, no files were found".
If the demo doesn't work, does the publisher really expect people to pay for the software?

I make a mistake on my backup and delete photos of my vacation, with the trial version of wondershare data recovery i cant see all my files, and now i pay the software to get the files again, thanks for your software, thanks to help me to recovery my files.

Summary

My external drive could not be accessed because the files were missing or corrupted. It was a disaster since all the photos and videos I took during the last month were there....I ran Wondershare hoping it would work. It took more than 12 hours to recover the 880 GB of data but it did recover them. Truly an amazing software. Data recovery service companies ask several hundred dollars to do the the same work. Thank you Wondershare.

Bought this when I accidentally formated an external HDD, and used it also for an unreadable flash drive! Excellent work! Worked where everything else failed
