5.0 out of 5 starsWonderful App for Everyone!

Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2018

I have used Color Notes for the past five years on 3 different Android platform tablets as well as the most recent Kindle Fire. It is a wonderful little program without any issues. It is similar to Sticky Notes on Windows 7. I find it useful for daily reminders as well as grocery lists and shopping lists. I have one with the sizes of each family member, which is great for shopping those clearance sales. I also divide up my lists for hardware stores, auto supply stores, pet feed stores and garden centers. I use a different color note for each category, just like on my home computer .It helps organize my activity without stressing my brain or forgetting something important. I have been a 'list' person my entire adult life - but I would often forget my list when shopping. With this app, I have not had that problem! I would recommend this for everyone, even those who are not as OCD as I am.

Jot-down apps: From ColorNote to OneNote, 4 popular apps to know

ColorNote
One of the most popular notepad apps on Android, ColorNote makes people effortlessly organised. This app gives you a quick and simple notepad editing experience when you write notes, memos, e-mails, messages, to-do-lists. The app features two basic note taking formats, a lined-paper styled text option, and a checklist option. The text option allows for as many characters as you are willing to type. Once saved, you can edit, share, set a reminder, or check off or delete the note through your device’s menu button. In the checklist mode, you can add as many items as you would like and arrange their order with drag buttons activated in the edit mode. ColorNote even reminds you of the saved notes so that you will never miss anything important. When you are finished using the notepad, an automatic save command preserves your individual note. Ideal for those who jot down quite a lot on the go.

Many users refer to Evernote as their external brain, storing anything and everything in one easy searchable location. A cross-platform app designed for note taking, organising and archiving, the magic of Evernote is that it’s an app where you can add everything —from typed-in notes to scanned documents to photos—in a jumbled manner and it will sort everything out and let you find anything that you have added in seconds. And it does all that from any of your devices, for free. You can add text, images and scanned documents to your device and the app will synchronise everything across all your devices in a jiffy. You can even search for handwritten words buried deep within your notes. Of course, you’ll first need to download Evernote for your device, and create a free account. There’s also a paid account option that lets you upload more data each month and adds some extra features.

Google Keep
A note taking app developed by the Internet behemoth, Google Keep is available for the Android and iOS mobile operating systems and as a web app. Its interface is extremely simple to grasp; that means you can start taking notes right away with little learning curve. You can add notes, lists and photos to Google Keep. Pressed for time? You can even record a voice memo and Keep will transcribe it so you can find it later. Need to remember to pick up some groceries? Set a location-based reminder to pull up your grocery list right when you get to the store. The best part is, you can colour and add labels to the notes so that they are better organised. If you need to find something you saved, a simple search will turn it up. Google Keep also syncs new notes across devices at lightning speeds, so your notes are always within
reach. In short, with this app on your device you can capture what’s on your mind.

OneNote
OneNote from Microsoft lets you create simple or complex notes from scratch, organise them into searchable notebooks, and sync them among a variety of platforms, including Windows PCs, Macs, iPhones, Windows Phones, Android devices and the Web. You can take a picture of the whiteboard in a meeting or create to-dos to keep track of your daily errands or groceries shopping. You can then organise your notes in a way that works best for you. With a variety of pen colours and settings, you can create beautiful handwritten notes and drawings. You can create, rename, search, sort, and copy pages, sections, and notebooks. You can even share your notes with your friends and colleagues. Whether it’s a party you are planning with others, or an office project you are working on with your group—this app enables you to work together in a shared notebook at the same time.
